Someone Like You is a successful second novel written by
Kaka HY. Previously, Kaka has been writing a novel titled "Heaven on
Earth". Someone Like You tells of a dream, love, and the
struggle to achieve a dream.
Someone Like You tell about a Senior High School girl
named Mila. When Mila was only six years old, she is a cheerful child, and easy
to get along with others. However, when she was ten years everything changed.
After singing contest she turned into a quiet girl and closed to others. On
that day, there was a woman suddenly appeared to the front of the stage to the
audience in the show to distract them from Mila. The little girl stopped
singing. Tha woman is Mila’s father's first wife. She is not received on
marriage both Mila’s parent. The woman threw discredit words that should not be
worth hearing by a small child. The incident made Mila feel fear. Until she
forgot his dream of becoming a singer.
Once, when Mila stepping 12th grade in Senor High School, Mila’s
new neighbor named Riki able to turn it into a cheerful child and re-open it to
others. Although it is not easy for Riki present, but he always gives
motivation to Mila to regain the dream she had forgotten, to become a singer.
Because they often met, then the interest arises between them. However, Riki
had a relationship with a fellow student, her name is Sarah. Because Riki
felt his love hanged by Sarah, Riki finally decided to be friends with her.
Then Riki express his feelings to Mila. Before revealing his heart to Mila,
Riki give a surprise that brings Mila with her father, because after divorce
with Mila's mother they never met each other.
Novel Someone Like You, has a story that is easy to
understand. Moreover, in the novel there exist also lessons to be learned that
the past is not something that is regrettable. The past is memories, and
memories is a lesson.
Besides having advantages, novel Someone Like You also have
little flaws like there are some typographical errors. This novel is perfect
read by teenagers, because this novel can provide motivation to those who may
have a problem in achieving a dream.
